FIRECAST® is the Fire Danger Index Forecasting System for alpine regions and it represents a complex evolution of the Canadian Fire Weather Index (FWI). FIRECAST® evaluates the fire danger risk depending on: weather conditions, their past evolution and their interaction with specific environmental properties of soil and vegetation. FIRECAST® provides foreseen fire danger risk index maps, with forecasting time up to 72 hours. |
